DR Needs a Dynamic and Flexible Intranet
Founded in 1925, DR is Denmark's largest electronic media organisation providing content for radio, TV and the Internet. DR runs two television channels, 19 radio stations, a leading news website, and other services such as an orchestra, a choir and a big band.
DR employs 3,200 staff, that work in a variety of business units in different locations. Staffs rely on a dynamic and flexible intranet to access corporate data and share strategic information. However, it was clear to DR that the search capabilities on its intranet, DR Inline, were not meeting expectations. Information was hidden unless the user knew where to find it and the search process required several attempts and rewording of criteria. Staff were often uncertain about the accuracy of their searches and frustrated about overwhelming amounts of accompanying irrelevant information.
iBox Transforms DR Inline
DR conducted an exhaustive review of the various metadata tagging and search solutions on the market and carried out a proof of concept project. It soon became clear that Interse's iBox was the best solution for the challenge DR faced.
DR implemented iBox Enterprise Search and classification technology. Employees can easily and quickly search information stored in Microsoft CMS and NTFS file stores, and a usability test concluded that the search interface and functionality were easy to use and intuitive. Users also found the unique and effective filtering of search results extremely useful in their work.
